When we moved to Pemberton, in the Southern Forests region of Western Australia, we already knew the beauty and tranquility of the place. What we looked forward to most, though, was getting to know the people who live and work here. The beauty and the people make the region what it is. That includes quiet craftsmen whose work speaks for itself, like local furniture maker Andrew Kristoffersson.
We were fortunate to meet Andrew and visit his Manjimup workshop and showroom and commissioned several pieces of furniture from him. We love the results. More than that, we appreciated the care, patience, and skill that went into the work. I think in this tech driven world, his kind of craftsmanship is growing harder to find.
This short video was created simply out of appreciation. Appreciation for the craft, and for supporting local people who do great work. As I sit at the desk we designed together — now something real and memorable — this is just our way of saying: Thanks, Andrew.
