In the heart of Western Australia’s Southern Forests sits the beautiful town of Pemberton — once known mainly as timber town, it is now one of Australia’s premier food, agriculture, and wine regions.
Since moving from the city, Melissa and I have discovered experiences we never imagined. We enjoy drinking wine, but we had never understood until now how it was created — the soil, the innovation, the hard work behind every bottle.
Living here also means the seasons carry a different weight. Another year, another cycle in the vineyards — from pruning to harvest, marked by misty mornings and golden sunsets.
This season we had the pleasure of spending time with two local winemakers. With Pemberley and Lambton wineries we learned through observation, tasting to learning how to prune vines and pick grapes and both generously shared their craft with us, and we appreciated every moment.
Just another reminder of the richness of country life.
