A nice early morning walk in Applecross…the kind that frames the rest of the day.
Up a little earlier than usual, with Melbourne ahead this afternoon, I stepped out from the Applecross pad for a walk along the Swan River. It’s the kind of walk that doesn’t demand much, but gives plenty back. The air carried a light chill, and the water moved steadily under a soft blue sky.

I’ve been walking at least 2km daily for 45 days in a row… but this one felt different. Maybe it was the timing. Maybe it was the pelican and the black swan. Or maybe just the sense of movement — heading somewhere, while still being present.
Out on the river, pelicans drifted with the current, while a black swan carved its own path.
That felt like a quiet reminder — move with the flow when it makes sense, and when it doesn’t… find your own line.
A promising start to the day.
