Recently, Monica Rado, Vice Chair of the Southern Forests Food Council, and I with my Executive Chair hat on met with Minister Don Punch, the Minister for Aboriginal Affairs; Water; Climate Resilience; South West, to discuss the value and opportunity the SFFC provides to the Southern Forest Region.

It was an important conversation, and one I didn’t take lightly. Minister Punch has been a fantastic supporter of the SFFC and the Southern Forest Region over the years, and that relationship means a great deal to the organisation and the community it serves.
I find myself reflecting on the journey. I grew up in South East San Diego. The fact that I got to walk the halls of the Western Australian Parliament advocating for farmers and communities in one of the most remarkable food regions in this country is something I couldn’t have mapped out. It happened because of the people around me, the team, the community, and everyone who has invested their time and trust in me and this organisation.
I’m thankful for that. All of it.
